Lots of miles this year, pleased

After this upcoming weekend's 1000 mile "jaunt", we will have driven nearly 10,000 miles in the last year in our 2014 Sunseeker 2300 (Chevy). We will also have well over 18,000 miles on it.

So far we are very pleased with the reliability and functionality of it. It's very comfortable, maneuverable in tight parking lots and drives like a dream. I had the oil changed the other day and actually drove it to work instead of going home to save time. Not the most efficient commuter, but comfortable. LOL.

Thought I would share another positive experience on the thread.

Happy Camper

A neighbor has the same model, also a Chevy. He loves it. He drove it to Oklahoma a few weeks ago.

FWIW, we did ~6000 miles on our MBS Sunseeker this year and have had nothing but positive experiences ourselves too. And even if i did have an issue, so what? There aren't all that many people out there who are fortunate enough to have an RV to have problems with in the first place.
Thanks for starting this thread!

Another FWIW. We just completed a 4900+ mile trip from our home in west TN to the Maritime provinces of Canada--New Brunswick, PEI and Nova Scotia in our 2014 Solera. It also drives very well and the trip was without incident. We very much enjoy this size RV and did not tow our CR-V. Mileage was great, IMHO, as we averaged 12.5-15.5 mpg depending on terrain and speed.

I've driven 15,000 mi. in 15 months in my MBS 2014 Solera. I drove thru (and found parking) in crazy Los Angeles and Hollywood traffic many times. I love the maneuverability and being able to be spontaneous with this size and it's great gas mileage.ps- it always turns heads and gets comments; people love it's great style and small size. I love that I always have a clean bathroom running around the city.

Not as many miles but my 2year6mo 3170 has 11,000 miles. No issues, no problems. Just love this unit.

Ditto...

I just finished a 10 day stay in our 2300 at the beach. No complaints or issues, with the exception that the black box wine box is a tad too tall so we keep a trimmed down empty box at the ready.

Sorry we cannot join in we ordered our NEW 2015 2300 and got it in February as of today only have 2980 miles on it..780 of those miles were put on from factory delivery to Georgia. It is has been in the shop 2 times for transmission issues and going back on the 19th for a 3rd time.. wish we COULD put miles on it! NOT a happy camper..and this has nothing to do with the 5 times it has been back to the dealer for issues...all of which is a shame because we ordered this unit and really like it if we could use it..

Gingsnap,

Do you have a Ford or Chevy? What's the problem with the transmission? If you don’t know the problem, would you describe the conditions?

Search the forum. I think ford went to a new 6 speed and were having vibration issues.

Very happy with our 2014 3170 ds. 10,000 mi in two round trips up Ca to Id Mt and Wy. Lived in it all Summer in Wy. Very comfortable. Sunseeker gets my vote for the best of the several rvs we've owned.

gingersnap....

I may had missed it. Is it a chevy or ford? with the chevy we are getting excellent service from Hardy in Dallas. They also run a truck shop so a 4500 chassis is no big deal.

Great to hear good reports on the Sunseeker. We did a 7,100 mile trip this summer and did not have a single issue with the MH. Would do it again in a heart beat!

Edit*
Gingersnap has a 2300 on a Chevy chassis.

We didn't start using the 2016 Ford chassis' until April so anything before that wouldn't have been effected.

Bad tranny on a Chevy?
I think there was a recall on the 2012-14's for torque convertor ???
I have a 2015 chassis- so far so good.
6 spd tranny seems good.
