Low Point Drain

On s Sunseeker 2300, does draining using the valve on the low point fresh water drain also drain the water heater? I am going to sanitize, and hope I don't have to remove the anode rod several times during the process just to make sure the water heater gets flushed.

The low point drain will not drain the water heater. I would drain the water heater by removing the plug/anode then flush it through that opening. Then bypass the water heater before sanitizing the rest of the system. Introducing bleach into the water heater (assuming you are using that to sanitize) can take forever to rinse clean. This would be true for winterizing also. Bypass water heater before introducing antifreeze into the system.

I am planning to use Thetford fresh water tank sanitizer and think the hot water tank should be included. I have already replaced the anode and don't want to go through that multiple times again. I'm not sure how to bypass the water heater. I don't have a winterizing package with shutoff valves. My water heater is under the rear bed. I would have to remove a dozen screws to get at it.

To bypass the water heater, there is a round access cover under the mattress. It is directly over the rear of the heater. No need to remove the plywood that the bed rests on. Reaching in there you will find the back of the water heater. There are 3 valves. To bypass, the lowest and highest ones should be closed (perpendicular to pipe) and the center one open (parallel to pipe). To use the water heater, reverse settings.

If you want to run the sanitizing chemical through the water heater you could just let the water pump do it by opening a hot water faucet and running a lot of water. Maybe when done then just remove heater drain once to help get all the chemical out of the heater, or just run lots of fresh water through it by opening hot faucet.
