Lp detector

My LP. Detector keeps going off. Just picked up our 3010 yesterday. It went off at the dealership during our walk through and they said it could have gotten hit with the xylon spray treatment so they would replace it. Fine last night and then this afternoon started going off again. If I have the door open at the entrance it does not seem to go off. If it is closed up for 5 or 10 minutes it goes off again. The unit is plugged in and charged although when it went off last night the batteries were very low.

I want to disconnect it while I call the dealer for replacement. Will it hurt anything by just cutting the lines?

Ok. I just pulled the 3amp fuse. I'll have to see what the dealer says.

Sounds like it's really seeing a potentially combustible atmosphere if it only goes off when the coach is not ventilated. Not sure what "xylon" treatment is unless it's some sort of fabric treatment that may be tripping the detector. Worse case is you really have a small gas leak but I would expect that you would smell it. I would leave the coach ventilated for a couple days and close up the coach and retry it. I would shut the gas off during that period as well. If there is no alarm when you turn it back on then put the gas back on and see if it alarms again

the most common cause for this, is a low battery. this is the reason way more often than actual leaking propane.
in fact, a bad detector is more common than an actual propane leak.

I agree, can you shut your propane tank off and light the stove top to drain the lines and see if it still goes off.

I just bought a new compressor for my garage. My old compressor is a small canister unit that I plan on keeping in one of the cubbys. I figure ill use it for the ride rite adjustments. What is a good setting for those? The dealer set them at 40 I do believe.

My Coach handles better with them at 60. They can be as much as 100. Also tire pressure is very important. So I have a Sears compressor that can fill the tires pretty quickly. I keep the rears at 80 lbs and the fronts at 75lbs. I think Raper has them at 75 front 70 rear.

Not to hijack the thread but think that already happened. What's the minimum air compressor I could get that would fill the tires more quickly like you? I have a black and decker air station and it takes forever to add just 5 psi let alone to 6 tires. Great for cars and bikes but not a motor home. I see things like a pancake air compressor (1/3 horsepower, 3 gallon, 100 psi at harbor freight for $60) - would that do it?

That is pretty much what I put in our rig that should be sufficient.

On another note, the LP protector was tested with no LP in the lines and the propane off... Beep beep beep... How annoying. I think it's bad.
