Magnadyne M4 problem

I just did the software update on my M4 LCD to resolve an issue with the GPS resetting itself frequently. I used the files from the Magnadyne website and followed the directions exactly (twice). Now nothing happens when I push the navigation button, the physical button on the the top left or the soft key. Everything else seems to work fine. I tried the reset button on the bottom left and it did not help. Anyone else have this issue?

I will call Magnadyne this week, but I am trying to get on the road.

I got it figured out. I am posting the resolution in case someone else has the same issue.

You have to go to the settings page, click navigation, and then scroll down to the igo.exe file. I had originally clicked on the igo folder, the .exe was on the next page down.

I believe this is the same procedure if you update your maps.

missing sd card pigtail

long story short, we were told that our new 3050ss was missing the sd card on the M4. after pulling unit out, following instructions found on Magnadyne's site, there wasn't a sd card reader in the back of the unit. anyone know why that might be?

Newer models of the Magnadyne have the SD card on the front. Previously there was an SD card slot on the front to use for playing your own music and a card holder on the back for GPS files. They eliminated the holder on the back and re-purposed the one on the front for the GPS. (Who uses an SD card to carry around music files anyway?) If you have the newer model with the changes, there should be a card in the front slot. If you are adding a card or updating files, you have to go into the GPS setup and select the file that contains maps.

I suspected that might be the case but when FR told us it was in the back...well..., anyhow, the card they sent didn't work in the front either, no files popped up on the gps screen.

Call Magnadyne. They have been very helpful to me in dealing with problems. I had one of the first units and when some features weren't working right, they sent me a whole new unit. Later they helped with software upgrades.

We fixed our Magnadyne, bought a Garmin. Now we just use it as a radio and for TV sound.

GPS now working

called Magnadyne and talked to Mark and he helped us get things working. we just needed to push the SD card in a bit further, something the instructions we a bit lacking in. Mark was great BTW and anyone having problems with their unit should give him a call.

I would like MagnaDyne to come up with a way to use the GPS and have the radio MUTED or OFF. I get scared driving the RV through big cities, and don't want to have distractions.

There is a "Mute" button on the radio screen. You can also try selecting a different audio source like AV1 or AV2. I have my GPS sound set on high so it is heard over the radio.

Trouble is..... if you MUTE the radio, you also MUTE the GPS. I want the GPS to be heard, but not have the radio on.

I am not sure it mutes the GPS. If it does, try selecting an unused audio source AV1 or AV2.

Just tried muting the radio and as soon as you touch the screen it unmutes.

On the home screen, select USB or AV1 (assuming you do not have anything plugged into the USB port on the front or the AV1 on back). Then switch to GPS. The only sound you hear will be from the GPS.
