Clever ideas for sure. I'm leaning towards a wireless option but the ones I have seen all have a fob. I would like to find a simple wall mounted switch (transmitter) and then it would look good and get the job done. Similar options exist for home 120 ac applications. The wall switch looks like any other residential light switch and it remotely controls something like a lamp.
I don't mind fishing for wires in the wall, but there is a wooden barrier in 2 directions. The only solution I have found is to open up the wall so a hole could be drilled into the void where the wires to the switch are located. I'm not to keen on the opening of the walls option.
Another thought I had is to use some track lighting type conduit and have it run down the wall to a normal switch. I don't think that would look to great.
