Moving on to another phase.....

Well, after RV'ing since 2004 and having owned a few Forest River Sunseekers (which I have been pleased with....), I'm giving up the RV.

I'm currently working in Yellowstone, been here all summer and have less than two weeks to go.

When I get home, there is a dealer near me that sells both Cars and RV's, and although they sell new cars, they prefer to sell USED Forest River RV's. So, I am going to do a trade, my RV for an SUV. I currently don't tow a car and blog about RV'ing without a tow car. (In case anyone wants to know, I'm going to AWESOME FORD AND RV in Chehalis, WA.) I have had my RV's repaired there many times even though I don't live there. Just kind of happened.....

My current RV (that I'm trading) is a Sunseeker 3180, with the computer desk option. I bought this in 2012. I loved this RV, and will shed some tears when I trade it. I have also owned the 3120 (which I think they discontinued) and a 2860 (which was my first time with Arctic Pak).

I have really had a great time RV'ing all these years.... Learned a lot about myself and that I could rely on myself.

At this point I don't know what I want, but I do know I'm done with the RV thing. Loved every minute of it, and kind of want to "quit while I'm ahead with good memories" instead of being at the down side.

For those getting Sunseekers, if you get a stabilizing system, DON'T get the HWH, those are a royal pain. If it can be installed on your RV, spend the bucks for the QUADRA! After screwing with the HWH on the 3120, having the QUADRA on the 3180 was SUCH A JOY!

Happy RVing to all of you. I have all good memories of my RV travel! My only sad memory is my cat dying while I was in Iowa in 2015.....

Sorry to see you leave

Wife and I have enjoyed reading your posts over the last couple of years since we purchased our Sunseeker. Good luck to you in the future and thank you for helping others here on the forum.

Happy travels to you, too...

Can you pm me your blog address? I love reading about other camping adventures. We have a trailer, looking for something bigger, but don't know if we're ready for a class C yet. I don't tow or drive..too scared, but you give me hope!

Sorry to see you are giving up the rv life. Any reasons why? I am sooo curious!

Have a wonderful post-rv life

wish you the very best. Hope you enjoyed working at Yellowstone this summer. Our dear friends Daughter did the same thing and has great memories. Thank you for your wisdom and encouragement in the rv family. I'll raise my glass to you ! !

Yes, well, we thought the same thing. After living in our Rockwood 2602 Ultralight for 5 years, we finally settled down and the RV sat in the driveway for 6 years before we finally sold it. We were tired of camping and travel all over the west. That lasted about 3 years. We bought ANOTHER TT (our Palomino SolAire) and now we use it to travel around on vacation.

Never say never!
