Attempted to dry camp one night in parking lot of grocery store, but CO detector started beeping, so, not wanting to go to sleep and never wake up, we drove on. I attempted to park with gen exhaust on downwind side. Any thoughts?

250 watt convertor was not large enough.

Fridge question- should I let fridge run on 12 volts while traveling or propane?
I would get generator exhaust fumes in my Sunseeker if any window or door was open while it was running. You may need a Genturi exhaust extension if that caused the beeping.

I have read that some people have experienced a dog or cat causing their alarm to beep.

Go to a big box store and buy a Kidde with a digital display and a built-in 10 year battery. Mount it on a wall at eye level.

I installed one and replaced the combined LP/CO detector with an LP only detector. I got tired of false alarms.

Just wanted to say Hi. I too have a 3120DS - it's a 2014, one of the last of the breed.

I am looking for a new power invertor for running 2 TV's and a DVD player while driving. Thoughts on the below, will this suffice?

To tell, you need to add the watts, or amps, from each device to determine whether this inverter will work or not. At 1100 watts continuous and 2200 peak, you should be able to run LED or LCD TV's, the real question would be whether or not there is enough amps to run the DVD player. The 1100 watts equates to 9.17 amps. The owners manual should tell you the rating for each appliance. If you don't have the manuals, they usually can be found online.

Ok...updates...we have now made 3 trips...20, 850, and 450 miles for each. BT does not ever get below 2/3 on gauge...only takes a few seconds to drain. GW fills much faster with shower in use. Just purchased the reverse drain for flush as camper does not have a built in flush.

Also replaced the anode in the WH as it was completely gone.

Still researching power converter for tv.

What about good tv mounts to allow indoor and outdoor use of tv?

Power awning retracts very slow is this normal?

stuff

1st..... Congrats!

The yawning is slow, as long as the sound stays consistent you are prob good. We heat the HW all night before launch on 120 then shut it down. Hot enuf to wash dishes and hands for a full day on the road. We travel with full water. The frig goes online with 120 three days out while we stock, then lp on the road until landing...

Do you have the whole house filter? We did but we pulled it. Using the blue camco stick works fine sitting on the rear bumper and can go into the freezer btw flights to dwell growth of nasties...

Vent covers if you dont have them....

If your board take a pencil and run the tip across your keys then operate the locks. This transfers graphite to the pins to lub and prevent sticking. Never use wd40 or oil as it attracts dust and defeats the lube objective.... works on all locks...

Get a proper set of tire gauges. Consider something like a 160 for the rear and a 100 for the fronts. Gauge accuracy is best at mid scale. Good guages (rated, but not lab quality) around $25 each.

Ok, been a little while bow. We have camped 30+ days and put over 5000 miles on RV. Fuel mileage is horrible, but other than that we love rv. Updates include
1) changed anti freeze as we are currently in well below freezing temp
2) added 1500w power converter, 150 amp fuse. It fits well under folding couch. Runs tv and dvd well while travelling.

3) removed batteries and mechanicaly cleaned and painted battery box.

All is well...next job is to service generator. Plugs and oil change.

Thanks!

Be sure you have a good board to put under the jack if the ground is soft.

For our E450, I made an adapter to utilize the jack pins on the front axles. There’s no good place to lift the front axle with a bottle jack.

Ok, want to update on RV. We completed our longest trip to date over Christmas break. We left MS and traveled to Raton NM (1,150 miles). We dropped of camper at campground right on interstate and they did my winterization and stored camper for 10 days for $105. We drove our Jeep TOAD on into colorado to cambin.

For long trip, the new 1500 watt invertor was a life saver. Kept kids occupied with movies and video games.

Returned to camper with it setting in 18-20 inches of snow...

Only couple issues: Sewer dump valve was froze, lost gasket to hose while disconnecting, lost one of my 2X 12 leveling boards in snow, sewer cover lost in snow, and broke hanger for gen exhaust while kicking off ice.

For trip home, used strap to hold exhaust in position.

Made trip home and have completed the following repairs:

Replaced greywater drain valve
Replaced sewer cover
New hanger on gen exhaust
oil change in RV/Gen
New Spark Plug and Fuel Filter in Gen
Added safety chains to blue ox

Overall a good trip

Great trip. Trips like yours are what make RVs worthwhile.

Thanks for the report. It's always good to hear how things work out after a discussion on this forum.
