Oil Change

Bought a used 2006 Sunseeker 2600 E-450 in November. They changed all my oils and filters. I search thru all the manuals they provided and can't find recommended oil and filter change data (i.e. 6,000 mi or 6 months). I don't put much mileage on but want to see if anyone has calendar time info on when I need to make this oil change. I did a site search and found lots of info but not calendar info. Can anyone help that maybe has a maintenance manual. My chassis manual says nothing about mileage or time.

I have numerous vehicles, boat, pwc, motorcycle etc which all get very low hours/miles. Seems like I am always changing oil in something.

I did an extensive search and I could find nothing that states it is ok to go beyond one year for oil changes. Many articles say we change our oil with too few miles. But one year seems to be the magic time limit.

I change mine once a year, at the end of the season so that old oil doesn't sit in the engine all winter.

I Googled “ford owner’s manual” and found that you can download from Ford’s web site the 2006 Ford Scheduled Maintenance Guide, which includes E450’s.

Ours is a 2010 E450. I follow the “Special Operating Conditions” schedule since the weight of the coach alone is as much as a truck and a trailer. I figure it’s working as hard as if it were a towing all the time.
I use 5W-20 full synthetic which I buy at NAPA. I stock up when it is on sale for less than $4 per quart.

Correction. Your chassis may be a model year earlier than the coach's model year. Ours is.

We're with RV Bill - change it before any long lay-up. Low mileage RV usage is hard on oil as it tends to 'scuz' up if it isn't.

On that year Ford Chassis the normal range is 3500-6000 miles. In later years it went to 3500-7000 miles then 3500-10000 miles and once a year if running synthetic oil. Will most likely use the FL-820S oil filter. I recommend the Motorcraft filter. Will use either the 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil. That should be in the owners manual. And should be around 7 quarts.

Ford dealer or other dealer of your choice. Some RV dealers may do that, but most do not.
