? On Jensen JWM6A control unit in 3170

Speaker selector A-B-C.... Is channel "c" live in your 3170? When looking at my unit to buy I noticed that A ran the speakers in main cabin and B put the sound outside (both a and b work together or separate) but when turning off both A&B and putting on just C I got nothing. It would make sense to me if that were to send audio to the master bedroom but it doesn't.
I'm wondering if C is also vacant on anyone else's unit or if I need to tell them to fix this before delivery.
Thanks in advance.

Speaker C is for the subwoofer. Put something on that has some good bass and select and deselect C and you will hear the subwoofer.

? On Jensen JWM6A control unit in 3170

That was all I could think of but thought the head unit would have a dedicated "sub-out" line and not use one of the three channels.
Just found schematic online and you're right just use a speaker channel. Thanks!

Your television is also connected to the JWM6A. Just select mode "hdmi arc" the sound is amazing.

Speaker C

I have tried several times to get the TV to work with the speakers. The TV is too quiet without the speakers. So are you saying that with the selection of Hamilton arc and speaker c the TV volume should go through there?

Not necessarily C... Depends what you have hooked up to C... Select ARC and any speaker channel.. Try whatever your main cabin speakers are on. Good luck!

Tv sound in cabin

I have had a problem getting sound out of the cabin speakers from the tv. I put the setting of the jwm6a on hdmi arc and no sound? What should the tv be set on and is there and setting on the tv or jwm6a that has to be set up? Thanks

One other question on jwm6a

I can't get any am reception. I saw in the guide that there is an antenna out on the back of the unit do you know where the antenna is for both am and fm? Fm reception is fine thanks

My antenna seems to be in a splitter to the ford stock radio antenna on the hood. The reception am or Fm for coach or chassis radio stinks

Radio reception

Thanks - it's funny because fm is fine but am is bad on both the coach radio and ford. By any chance what is the coax cable connected for not sure what it does?

If the jwm6a is set to hdmi, tv sound should automatically shift from tv to the jwm6a, but make sure volume is turned up on jwm6a. Use speaker selection A and C. If no or distorted sound from speaker C, locate the subwoofer and check the volume settings on that unit. The subwoofer (speaker C) will be probably be hidden on the floor inside the closet. Remove the drawers and look around with a flashlight in any location that might be hiding the sub. The volume controls will be located on the actual subwoofer speaker.

The coax cable is for Ota or cable TV hookup. . If connected to park cable leave amp off. If using Ota antenna turn booster on which is the button next coax on the white plate

On our SS3010DS there's an HDMI cable connected directly from the TV (HDMI 1 (ARC)) to the JWM6A. Select HDMI ARC on the JWM6A...should be hearing sound from speakers.

I have the same Jensen head unit and discovered that the HDMI ARC setting on the head unit worked perfectly with the TV after I moved the HDMI cable to the correct ARC port on the back of the TV. It was seemingly not plugged into correctly at the factory. Consequently after I swapped the two HDMI cables on the back of the TV both the HDMI function from the Jensen head unit, as well as the satellite receiver (which I actually use to plug in my iPad) worked. do you have the Jensen JWM6A in your motorhome and What year is it.

I have a 2017 MBS 2400WS with a Jensen JWM6A
The JWM6A DOES NOT have a sub woofer channel
It has three sets of LEFT/RIGHT channels available in its design
The "A" channel outputs consist of a L Front/R Front and a L Rear/R Rear that are located in the main cabin area
The "B" channel outputs consist of a L and a R speakers located outside
The "C" Channel outputs consist of a L and a R
On my radio the "L" channel has a lamp cord style green/white wiring hooked to it. the wiring runs up into the ceiling somewhere but is not connected to anything.
The "R" is not connected to anything.

I know all of this because I finally got around to checking out the dvd player in the JWM6A yesterday and found out that the factory never hooked up the HDMI cable so I had the unit out.

If you have a problem believing what I say is true. Here is the manual for the Jensen JWM6A as proof.

Sherman, I have a 2016 Forester GTS 2801QSF built in January 2017. I have the Jensen JWM6A radio in the coach. See pic 1. Pic 2 shows the rear of the radio and the large group of wires are for the output to speakers. My "A" speaker select uses L and R to feed all four coach ceiling speakers. My "B" speaker select uses L and R to feed the two exterior speakers. My "C" speaker select uses both "L" AND "R" wires which feed an adjustable line output converter part # SNI 35. See pic 3. The SNI35 has a left and right RCA cable plugged into it. The RCA cable is run to the subwoofer and it uses both left and right RCA plugs. The subwoofer is located behind the lounge chair. See pic 4.
Many of us here with 2016 models have a subwoofer with the JWM6A which uses the "C" speaker select. Maybe FR has done away with the subwoofer on certain 2017 models. Hopefully someone with your year and model will post here.
