Onan generator CHG OIL indicator

Our remote monitor started flashing Chg Oil between time indications when our generator is running. We have 123 hours on it. So we changed the oil, but the indicator continues to flash. I have searched through the manual but find nothing about this warning. Any way to turn it off? Or is it indicating some other problem?

Still no answer? I was hoping somebody knew this one. Mine only has 23 hours on it. I already changed the oil because even though it's new, I don't know how long it's been in there. But, would be nice to know how to clear the indication if it pops up.

Next time i thought to look...it was off...not sure if it just took awhile or what triggered it to go off, but it did!

pretty much the same thing as your oil maintenance light on your car's dash...

its your onboard computer that needs to be reset. the generator runs for 100 hours before it needs an oil change (first break in oil change at 50 hrs for both the 4000 and the 8000 units and then routinely every 100 hrs).

call up forest river customer service and they can walk you through how to reset the onboard computer.

That's weird. I had 150 hours on the 7k in the Tiffin and never saw anything come up besides the hours. Only had a few hours on it when we bought it new. Changed it just as you mentioned, if not more often. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
