outside storage compartments

i have a 2013 2250 le and what is the weight capacity of the two rear storage compartments? the compartments are made out of a plastic material that if you put too much stuff in it they start to bow downwards.

I have always wondered about this myself. I don't know what the actual numbers are but on my drivers side rear compartment I carry a fully stocked tool box that probably weighs 75 pounds, a Air compressor that probably weighs 30 and some other miscellaneous stuff. So I'm pushing 150 pounds on that side. My passenger side is much smaller so it just holds fluids like oil, wiper fluid, bug spray and mini propane bottles. They do sag in the middle but I have never had a problem with them.

We've started transitioning to a new "gray" material from the regular black. (Supposed to be a more stable material). The old ones were rated at about 200lbs if I recall correctly. It will all depend on the size of items back there. A 200lb anchor will act a whole lot differently than a 200lb crate.

Similar issue as the overcab bed capacity. Maximum weights should be clearly marked in all compartments.

The storage compartments are rated at 200lbs. Again, in many cases they'll probably take more, but that is the official stance. Common sense in how the weight is distributed probably rules here.
