Great idea and great work! Did you buy a prefab drawer or did you make it?

I made the whole thing from 5/8 plywood. I laminated the parts with a Pionite laminate I found that matched perfectly to the existing cabinetry. I work at a cabinet shop, 16 years now, so I have an unfair advantage...

The drawer is from birch, and finished natural. I used heavy duty, soft closing guides.

close up ... I notched the drawer to keep room for the subwoofer for the RV theater system.

My wife is not allowed to see this. If she asks about it you know nothing.

Now THAT is maximizing space. I'm not ashamed to say we would have just shortened the drawer to the subwoofer depth. Called the rest "hidden security storage" (coming soon to a brochure near you)

We keep a tote outside next to the steps with our shoes in it, this way we don't track dirt in and no shoes to trip over and you still don't find critters in them in the morning. Dog even have to wipe their feet before coming in.

looks great! creative solution... we don't have that little couch... so we use a shoe picket hanger on the bathroom door facing out - not inside the bathroom... even hubby's size 12s fit in the pockets.
