Thumbs up PROBLEM: Shoes fill up the entry step

I want to share my latest upgrade. I've grown sick and tired of shoes filling up the entry step.

Ever deal with this?

Which lead me to remoe the panel on the couch, cause there is a ton of room under there.

The DW hated seeing the mess under the couch... but what was worse, twisting your ankle and body to manuver around the shoes in the footwell ( or having them spill out when you open the door ), or them neatly in a tray under the couch.

A BATTLE OF SHOES

SO....... I compromised to a win - win

I matched the laminate to the cabinetry and made a shoe cubby, covered by the original panel ( that slides on a drawer guide ) and added the roll out drawer on the other side.

What do you think?

Thanks,

Fantastic idea and you did a fantastic job fabricating. Probably a lot better than the factory could do. Congratulations.
