It is a grill that uses the one pound bottles. But the dealer said it has a regulator, so therefore the supply hose to the grill needs to run to the grill before the coaches regulator.

next question, Is the pic of your propane tank taken as a side view or from the top down. If it is a side view, the tank in upside down. The valve should not be at the bottom of the tank.

I would say because the flow rate of the rv regulator is higher than the portable grill and there is less restrictions going to the rv burner all the propane is going to stove burner and bypassing grill, reason its going out.Sounds good to me

One quick thing to check. Is the valve on the rv propane tank fully open?

You are plumbed correctly. It sounds like a volume/ gas flow issue.

I have a 3010 ds with the factory installed grill quick connect which is installed after the rv regulator. It's not an apples to apples comparison since I don't use a separate grill regulator in my case. But, I am able to run all propane devices inside at the same time as the grill.

That is what I have. The hose goes to the grill before the coaches regulator. I am stumped!

It is a side view from left to right. The supply valve from the tank is first, then the tee to the grill, then onward to the two regulators for the coach is next.

OK. From the pics and the info you gave me, it appears that the propane tank may be mounted wrong. The valve should be mount near the top of the tank to allow the liquid propane to expand to pressurized gas. With the valve located at the bottom, it is filled with liquid propane and there isn't enough room for the propane gas to expand to pressure.

It's a motor home and from what I've seen of them, they are usually mounted that way.

Tank is mounted correct! If you were to look at the tank from the end, valve will be at the three o'clock position ( on the side) its a horizontal mounted tank.

Speaking from experience calibrating and repairing pressurized gas lines and gages, the tanks appear to be mounted wrong. The tanks have two mounting brackets, depending if they are attached to the left or right side of the unit. The tank needs to be rotated 90 degrees so that the valve is near the top of the tank.

If you want a visual demonstration, take a can of air duster spray sold in any electronics department. Upright, pressurized air comes out of the nozzle. Upside down, pressurized liquid that is cold enough to chill a beer comes out of the nozzle. Same philosophy with propane systems.

Well cgotto1204, there are thousands and thousands of propane tanks in motorhomes that are mounted wrong then.

That's why there are two regulators. A high pressure and low pressure.

cgotto1204, in this video you will see how Trail blazer's tank is setup. The valve comes out the side of the tank.

OldCoot, I understand what you are saying. I will admit that my experience is mainly with vertical tanks, and if we received a horizontal tank for calibration, we always tested them with the valves at the top of the tank so that we wouldn't be frost burned if there was a hose breach.
