Propane Regulator Leaking

Into the 2nd day of our 2 week camping trip and our propane regulator started to leak. We are in a 2013 Sunseeker 2450S and the regulator's part number is 524as.

My question is- what is another replacement regulator's part number for either a Camco or Fairview brand equivalent? ... or any other brand regulator with hopefully better build quality.

Any help is appreciated.

right before we went on a trip a month in our 3010ds noticed propane level going down. got the soapy water out and also found my regulator was leaking. just went down to my local RV fixit guru and got a new one they both were from cavagna group. don't have any issues since then but will be keeping an eye on it. just figured it was a bad one it happens

Yeah it appears these stock regulators are cheap and prone to failure. Hopefully forest river starts recognizing the poor quality of these regulators from their supplier.

What was the brand and model number of your replacement?

2013 3011DS here and had my regulator go within the first 3 months of use. Ran to nearest RV shop and bought a replacement 2 stage. Don't remember the brand but haven't had any issues since.

You can also find replacement two-stage regulators at big box stores (Menards, Home Depot, etc) in their BBQ grill department. There have been many reports of leaking regulators in 2012-2014 models. Mine was about six months old when it started leaking. No problems since replacing it, but I now carry a spare and a roll of teflon tape (yellow for gas connections) in my tool box.

I also had problems. First not allowing gas, then leaking. Replace now before it breaks.

Interesting. We have a brand new 2015 Sunseeker that we took out for the first time this summer. We were out of propane in 2 days. Faulty regulator. Lucky that we found a repair shop, and replacement was covered by warranty.

I don't think we're buying the cheapest we can find...As is stated here, all the ones we use are from Cavagna Group. The replacement was also Cavagna Group.

I mentioned elsewhere, my home regulator leaks every year. Their comment when they replace it "it's probably sand or dirt in the line somewhere".
