Propane tank gauge stuck on empty

2015 Sunseeker 2700DS, propane tank gauge is always reading empty.

Dealer told us "that's normal" on new tanks. It will "fix itself" after the first fill.

Well guess what... it ran out on us this past weekend while camping. Went to get it filled today and the gauge hasn't moved. It still reads empty.

This is the gauge on the tank. There is one LED lit on the convenience centre panel that I assume corresponds with the outside gauge.

So, my questions are...

1. Is this truly normal for new tanks?

2. Any suggestions to fix this one or am I making a trip back to the dealer?
(It's over an hour drive one way so trying not to waste the gas and time if I don't have to.)

No it's not normal, it's defective and unusual to occur. I wouldn't go back to that dealer for anything. Call around to local propane shops. The tank can be pumped out, sensor changed, purged and refilled. Tell FR about it if under warranty.

Propane tank gauge stuck on empty

There's a whole thread on faulty regulators
I thought my gauge was bad cause I knew the tank was full but was reading empty. All my gas had leaked out.
Just some food for thought, might want to get that cheap defective regulator changed while the system is empty and they are changing the sensor, or if it's too late for that and you find yourself reading empty again....
