Question

Any of you folks wish you would have gotten a fifth wheel instead of your class C?

All configurations, from tent to motorhome, have advantages and disadvantages. To me, this makes ANY choice a compromise. Do a pro-con analysis on each combo or type, then pick the one that best fits your needs!

I don't think we fully know why we pull the plug on a certain type of RV. This time around I was considering a 5er and additionally a bigger truck. And the next thing I knew, I bought my MH at a show. I still need to figure out my toad dilemma and realize maintenance on the MH will be busy too. However, I love my Sunseeker.

I don't have a C but I did get a A. I planned on buying a 5'r. I just didn't want to drive the big diesel every day as my personal truck. I love the big truck but to much every day. Lots of plus and minus with every choice. Love my Berkshire but lots of work also. We did pull into a park this week and were set up and in our Pj's in about 5 minutes. That is nice!

We had several travel trailers and had been looking at 5th wheels. But what always held us back is that 3/4 ton trucks ride like trucks when they are not hauling a load. They have 1/2 ton towable 5ers but they all seem to be very close to being overweight. Right now we are very happy with our Sunseeker 2300.

Seems like all the people I have camped with over the years have gone through a progressive upgrade-over-time.

Generally, everybody starts with a tent, upgrades to a tent trailer (pop-up); upgrades to a travel trailer (or truck camper) then upgrades to a fifth-wheel or motor home of some type.

My wife and I went from tent to travel trailer to class C 3100 and am very happy.

I have a TH and there are plenty of times I wish I a class A or C. It would sure be nice to hit a few switches and be rolling down the road.

If you are a class C person you are going to be happy with you have.

I think when we change rigs at some future date we will go the 5ver route though. We sure like the idea of having the TV seperate from the TH.

Yes, the 3/4 ton drives like a truck. But it is a very nice truck, and with 4x4 has gotten us in and out of some very interesting places.
