Question for owners of Sunseeker 2700, 2250 or 2500

We are thinking of trading our 2300 for a 2700DS. Just wondering what it's like to sleep on that two piece mattress, have you had problems with it and what have you done to solve your problem.

We have a 2700DS and put the memory foam padding on it. I think it was 2".... I don't remember. If you like a firm mattress, you'll be fine but it's not like sleeping on a regular mattress. My wife actually likes it. I think it's still a little firm but not a big deal. We use it 2-3 weekends a month from May - Oct.

For me, it was a small concession to get a couch without having to drive a 30+ foot motor home.

On our last trip to the dealer they had two MH with the split Mattress one was very hard and the other seemed to be much softer. Our present MH has the upgraded Serta, I really hate to give it up

I replaced the 2-piece mattress with a foldable mattress (3 hinged parts) see details http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G2SMHZ0/..._26725410_item
It is firm, but I put a memory foam pad on top. The reason I bought it that when I need to dismantle the bed by bringing in the slide-out, it folds easily into a "sofa" shaped like this _/\ without having to take off the mattress pad and sheet. The 2 separate pieces of the original mattress were always sliding around, separating, and unwieldy, and I had to remake the bed every time I had to bring in the slide-out.

Mattress seams a little firm to me,,, but maybe it is because I have been sleeping on a water bed for 40 years !!! The seam in the Mattress does not seam to be a problem,,, I have been using sleeping bags,,, but bought some sheets yesterday,,, plan to try them next month,,, problem I had with the sleeping bags,,, was I could not keep them in place !!!

We have the two piece matress in our 2014 2500TS Sunseeker and it works just fine. Folds nicely when the back slide comes in and lays out flat when the slide goes out.

Can that 2 piece mattress be kept made up or does it have to be torn down and made up each time? The DW wants to know if you can just unhook the bottom sheet and will that allow you to move the slide in or out?

HI; Wife uses a mattress cover and a fitted sheet and seems to work fine. She indicates that she watches as it folds up when the slide comes in that it does not bind , when it goes out she watches that it spreads/ levels out like a solid mattress. Me I am outside sweeping junk off of the topper as the slide goes in.

We had a 2500 ts that we just sold. We put a mattress topper on the bed we bought at Costco. It was very comfortable and rolled itself up without problem when we pulled in the slide.

We have a 2500. I leave it made and watch as it folds in. Works fine. And our 2 piece mattress is hard as a rock. We too bought the 2" form for about $50 at a Big Lots. It folds with the sheet and quilt. But need to watch for binding.

I depends on whether you have the mattress that has 2 pieces that slide over each other (the joining edges are angled to facilitate this) as compared to the hinged one that folds in half. They used to have the one that folds, which I would have much preferred. But I got the one where the 2 halves slide over each other (I guess they came up with that design because people retraced the slide-out and left the hinged mattress flat (unfolded), which then jammed up against the opposite wall and stripped the slide-out gears). That's why I replaced it with the one I described in post#5, and it works for me. I can use the retracted bed as a sofa, a double layer of the 2 mattress pieces would be too high to sit on.

KAS, can you post photos both ways. That's really interesting, can you lay across it and nap?

Sunseeker Mattress

The mattress is 60” wide and 80” long, so each section is 60” x 27”, so you can lie across one of the sections if you're or don't care if your feet hang over the edge. I'll send pictures shortly.

Our question was,,, if two older folks were sleeping in our 2500TS,,, and the old one on the left had to get up in the middle of the night,,, which happens a time or two,,, how does that older person on the left get out of the bed ???

DW solved the problem,,, she sleeps on the dinette bed !!!
The cab over bed works just fine for storage !!!
