Raw gasoline smell after generator has run.

Has anybody experienced a raw gasoline smell after they have run the generator with a load on it? I have had this problem since day one and every time I take it for service they tell me they don't get the smell! Seems to be worse during high humidity.

Hello
I just took mine into Onan on Friday for the same problem, They ended up haveing to replace the carburetor. When they pulled off the air filter it was spitting gas back out into the filter, The filter was drenched with gas, It was covered under the warranty, No more smell when or after running. They told me they they see this quite often.

Thanks. I am going to make an appointment Monday with Onan. I have 1.5 months till the warranty expires.

Can you give me the contact information (maybe even a persons name) for your Onan service shop so I can have mine contact them. Mine was able to duplicate the problem but doesn't know what to do, they can't find anything "wrong".

So my dealer contacted yours and replaced the carburetor today. Seems better but I still have a slight fuel smell. I will try it next weekend and see if it is better. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the help!

It's no better! Going back in Wednesday for service. I am at the point where I want a new generator. I miss my Honda!
