Rear slide is crooked

We have a 2015 sunseeker 2860. The rear bedroom slide is crooked when out. The bottom of the slide comes out over an inch more than the top. When the slide is in all the way the bottom is also over an inch wider. The slide does seal when in and when extended. Was the slide made uneven. I took it to the dealer and they said they couldn't do anything because although its crooked when extended the inside of the slide is flush with the wall. This is also causing bottom the slide to be scratched. I need help with this as my warranty is over in one month. Hope this explains the issue. I will attach photos.

Not a Sunseeker owner but many model slides are not an exact square box, I have seen many slides that are the same as yours is and that is normal. The sides of many RV's angle in slightly so the slide box is built in the same manner.

I would contact Forest River warranty dept. right away..It sounds like what the dealer is telling you is either BS or they just don't know what they're doing. Either way, FR warranty should help you. Do it right away before your warranty runs out.
Good luck

I would make a call why it is still covered by warranty and get the facts.

My 2860 is the same way and my travel trailers before came out a little more at the bottom than the top. I think it is made that way, but please report back your findings if you find out otherwise.

Looking at the slide out topper, looks like one end is tight, while the other is drooping. If this is the slideout from front and rear, something is obviously wrong.

Despite what some have responded, this is definitely not right. A slide should seal near square to the exterior wall if it adjusted right. Since one side seems to lag the other besides being tilted in at the top, I'd guess the cylinder or rails that allow the slide to extend and retract is not perpendicular to your outer wall. If you do have a cylinder that extends the slide ... it may just need repositioned to pependicular. This may solve the tilt as well.

My 2860 is the same, no problems with it though other than aesthetics. On the other hand, my outdoor kitchen door is bowed, the colder the temperature gets, the more it bows. I had it replaced, the new one is the same. Makes it tough to turn both of the end locks.

My neighbor and I have newer Mirada motorhomes and the rear bedroom slide does the same thing on both units. Perhaps not quite as bad as your rear view. If you get an answer let everyone know.

I had a problem with my dinning slide, it would not go in and out right. The timing gears kept jumping a tooth or two. My set up uses a one hyd. ram and one tube at each end of the slide, with a timing rod to keep them parallel. I had a heck of a time trying to find out how to get it fixed, from Wolf pack, or Forest River. I had to get in contact with Lippert, after contacting them three times a young lady at Lippert that told me how to fix it.

What's kind of interesting is the side window appears to be square to the side of the trailer but may be some off to the outside wall of the slide. I would have to take a framing square and check for square at all corners. I would think a slide that was that far off would bind some.

DMKS. If you measure from the inside wall to the slide out trim on the top and bottom of both sides, you should be VERY close to the same measurement in all four corners when the slide is in the out position. Your seal should be compressed. If the measurements vary greatly you need a repair. If they are close to matching then in my opinion you have a poor cosmetic problem more than anything.I would call it in to FR anyway.

I read on another thread it is normal for the bottom to be out a little more than the top
Mine is also this way but the scratching on the bottom is not right
You also say you have a gap when slide is in
That's not normal, mine hug the coach wall tight when closed
Get that documented and call the reps at FR and find a dealer to get that fixed

crucked slide

i just took mine in because the top rear corner had scraped off the rubber outside seal. The top rear corner hangs up and won't close. Leaving it open about 2" on that top corner. Hope CW will be able to adjust it.

Take a look at the pictures again in the first post of this thread, you'll see that the vertical portion of the window frame on the slide is not cocked at all relative to the side of the coach. From what I know, every 2860 DS I've seen is the same way. We're only talking 2860 DS here, not any other unit as each is designed differently. Inside the coach the molding is flat flush to the wall when fully extended. Outside, measuring the top vs bottom of the end of the slide to the coach side gives 17 1/2" on top vs 18 3/4" on the bottom, and I reiterate, it's fully extended. I also measured my inside wall of the slide. It too is narrower on the top vs the bottom, so definitely this indicates that this was an intentional design.

KQ2N, do you have the marks on the bottom of your slide as mine does. My slide is the same as you describe yours with inside being flush with wall as its fully extended. I found numerous pictures online of other 2860's with rear slide same. It's good to hear from actual owner. I just want to make sure there is no structural issue before warranty goes out. Have you had any issue with your slide. Can you post picture of slide for reference. Thanks

DMKS, no, I don't have the scratches, perhaps lifting the bed plywood in the bedroom would indicate what in there may have made them. Again, the top outside dimension is 17 1/2" measured horizontally and the bottom is 18 3/4".

Just to confirm
Mine is a 2860DS and it is identical to Gary's
I agree some thing inside or some I'll placed screws are causing the scatch
I clean my slide walls often and while up on the ladder I found a screw stuck (with caulking) on the top surface under the topper
Not a big deal but it would have eventually torn my rubber seal

Same issue with our Forester 2701DS

When we did our PDI, I noticed the dinette slide out when extended was more out on the bottom than the top. The salesman said it was supposed to be like that. I spoke to a tech while shopping at CW and he asked if was a floor model. I said it was the dinette on a raised floor. He said that allows the floor to rise up when retracting preventing floor damage. But here at our CG is a Forester with the same slide out and theirs is not slanted. In other words, mine extends more on the bottom than the top. Theirs extends equally.
Going over and chat with Other Forester owner today. I would send photos of mine, but can seem to do it with my iPad.
