Reduced Engine Power

Hi, we are newbie owners of a Sunseeker 2500TS. On our first longer trip, after gassing up, the engine was slow to turn over. When it did the check engine light came on and "reduced engine power". After turning it off (getting lunch) and starting again it went off. It did happen again after stopping, but once it was restarted it went off.

Should we be concerned or is this part of the "breaking in" process? Given that it only have 1100 miles, we want to be safer.

Welcome to the forum. The symptoms you are describing are not normal nor are they part of the break in process.

I would be going to my local Ford dealer to get any codes in the computer down loaded to see why this is happening...

Check your gas cap for tightness. I think you can clear the check engine light by disconnecting the battery ground. If the condition returns, like Redldr stated, take it to a Ford dealer.

Perhaps you take it to the dealer and have them plug in the scan tool to see if it stored any codes.

then again if it did the light would still be on.
