rough ride in my 2016 SUNSEEKER 3010DS

We just got back from a trip to Florida (1700 mile round trip). Every time we hit a bump in the rode it sounded like the rear axle was goin to fall off. I was on I-95 so if your familiar they have plenty of potholes. It was so bad, decorations fell off the wall, one of the rear A/C round vents fell from the ceiling and a screw holding our bathroom mirror fell out.

Has anyone had these issues or recommendations other than avoid potholes?

Does yours have air bags in the rear and at least 80 lbs in them. I run 95 several times a year in ours and don't have that.

Diffently check suspension air bags (Ride Rite), and also tire pressure !

I never quite bit the bullet on air bags, going on 6 years with my Sunseeker. After years of many 2000 mile I-95 and I-81 trips with all the rattling, bone jarring dips and stuff falling down I may finally look into them. Tire pressure has not been so much an issue.

I've been messing with my pressures for two seasons now. On mine, at present, I run with empty tanks, save about two gal in the black tank, and start out with full fuel. Running factory sticker tire pressures of 75 front & 80 rears. The air bags right now at 60 lb. it is still bumpy but some better. You're going to have to try different bag pressures depending on how you load your rig. This is a discussion with as many answers as hair on your head - trial and error...

Also changed front shocks to Bilsteins. Big difference.

I ordered them from Rockauto for an E 450 Super Duty. I am not home and can't see a number on the shock.

No one has mentioned it so I'll ask...have you had it weighed loaded and are you under both your rear axle and coach weight restrictions?

My 2016 3100 has the bags and new Bilsteins and a newly installed safe track bar. Ran the bags at 60 the last trip into KY a few weeks ago with a very light load as we were only going to be on the road for ten days and 5 of those we were staying at my son's house. 10 gallons of water, very little grey or black but a full tank of gas. The front seems to handle the bumps and those wicked bridge expansion joints well but the rear sounds like the axle is hitting the frame. I have not run higher pressures in the bags but at this point I may try that to see if it helps with the pounding rear ride.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.......

I run 65 psi with a normal load. If I run 45-50 psi the ride is softer but a bit spongy.

You guys running over 90 psi are setting up the rear axle to be a rock with a very hard ride.

If I'm towing the Jeep Grand Cherokee I run 75 psi and it's actually a better ride with the additional cantilever of the hitch.

Just my humble opinion.

Not in my 32 ft. SunSeeker. Not hard at all and certainly not bouncy with anything under 70 psi!

Remember the air bags are there, in part, to transfer weight from the rear to the front putting more weight on the front axle and stabilizing ride on the rear.

Since the front axle has more headroom for weight than the rear getting any weight up there helps in handling and stability. I even put a lot of heavy stuff in the front overhead bunk instead of on the rear bed. I also put my air compressor, and other tools, Weber grill, etc, I take with me on long trips in the rear of the Jeep. Not in the rear compartments.

Saying that the class c is never gonna be a cadallac on a rough road.
