Screen Door Question

We own a 3010DS.
Weather finally warmed up a little here.
I wanted to have the screen door closed and the entry door opened.
The entry door will not open all the way. (flat against the RV)
It stays at a 90 degree angle, which is not very convenient,
especially if it's a little breezy out.
What am I missing here?

No familiar with all the details of your rig, but the door on our rig only opens 90 degrees also for a couple of reasons.

First.........there is a gas strut at the top of the door to limit the opening to 90 degrees. If you want to unfasten the strut (there's a small clip on top) you can open the door to the max.

IF you open the door to the max, it might mark the body of the camper, and on my rig, it would be in the way of the awning arms.

Is there something blocking/preventing the entry door from fully opening - such as bent or damaged hinges?

I never heard of this occuring before.

Does your unit have a fixed bracket or receptable for accepting a folding hinge (not the right term for it) mounted on the entry door for holding it fully opened?

Agreed. Curious why it's not opening unless it's obviously a gas strut like KenAndTerry says theirs is (plus, we saw ones like this at the RV show - not sure I'd like that, to be honest).

What's blocking it?

Kenandterry was right on. There is a strut at the bottom of the door.
Removing it wouldn't help though. The problem is the
motorized awning arm is attached very close to the door hinge.
This would prevent the door from opening all the way (90 degrees)
I don' know if the arm would still be in the way once the awning is fully deployed. I'll check on our first outting next week.
A design flaw by Forest River?
Hinges on the opposite side would rectify the problem.

On the subject of screen doors. I like to keep my trailer door open and run the A/C. Has anyone made a storm window for you screen door? Show some pics please. ( hope this doesn’t high jack this thread )

The strut is there just for that reason; to keep the door from hitting the awning arm. Was just at the factory and that particular model is just like that. I personally don't like any strut on a entry door. I'd rather pin it open to the wall like ours is. Not a whole lot of options on that model besides removing the strut and opening it up as far as it'll go, which might require some sort of bumper where it hits the awning arm.

Hated the strut on our 5er until I repositioned both anchor points 2" closer to the hinge and pop riveted the door anchor to the door and thru bolted the hinge anchor. Works great and opens over 90° and also helps close the door. Misses our awning arm by about an inch.

hinges on the opposite side are called suicide doors. No one does that on motorized. Door gets open for some reason at speed....bye bye door.

I cut plexiglass and attached it to the door with sticky-back Velcro - hook tape on the door, loop tape on the glass. I only did the bottom half of each door. I wasn't looking to make a storm door, but to protect the screen...the little white dog tore up the lower screens on both doors on our last trailer. So far, it has worked fine on a nearly 1,000 mile (so far) trip. I originally thought I would take it off while driving and only put it back on while we were camped, but it "rides" just fine on the door. I suspect two pieces on your doors would allow you to open the exterior doors and run your A/C with the screen - now storm - doors closed.
