Sewing Machine setup in 3050

When we bought our 3050 in 2014, I was torn between the 3070 with the desk since I am a sewer and quilter, but my dh and I both loved the 3050 floor plan. Lo and behold I found the perfect setup in our 3050. Picture will tell it all. I am so pleased !

I have only taken my machine out once, I hadn't thought about putting it up there but it works.

I have it on a fold up table and use a fold up stool , but, there is plenty of room for a fold up chair and the socket under cabinets or in perfect position. My machine is also lightweight. I can sew away and not be in the way .

I have a 3170ds with the bunk area, and have been thinking of removing the bottom couch and moving the top bunk down to sewing table height, stowing the mattress along the wall underneath.I've made slip covers for the dinette backs, and friend who saw them have had me make slip covers for their MH's jackknife couch and dinette, too! I may have started a MH cottage industry, since my friend's trail riding club like the western themes! If it takes off I'll need the large area to make patterns and to cut fabric. The bunk could still be usable when not sewing. My little machine and tubs of notions thread and fabric will stow underneath, too.

I sew almost all day every day...skating apparel, dance, wrestling, custom camera straps...the last thing I'll EVER bring with me is my sewing machines. Thank God they are commercial and it will never be a possibility.

Some of us don't sew for a living but for recreation or a hobby. I have been known to take my Janome Gem Silver with me in the popup to work on curtains and seat covers for it (our old one). Set up the machine at the dinette and my cutting board on the picnic table.

Love it... first post with all WOMEN posters. Yeah, us! Just kidding. The men can talk amps, tow ratings, jacks, etc...

For me - I've always just used the picnic table at the site. Creates quite the buzz when people walk by!

I travel with my sewing machine. On rainy days, I set up on the dinette table and sew.

I am sew glad to see all the creative comments on sewing in our motorhomes and impressed with how all of you do it in limited space. It goes to show you where there's a will there's a way. All I can say is sew on and have fun camping !
