Been struggling with where to put our shoes and came up with this. Will let you know how it works out.

I think a large drawer under the main sofa would be good for this....

Ha. That would entail people taking shoes off and walking a couple of feet to put them away...(yes, that's sarcasm sigh.) but a great idea for folks with older kids or just adults traveling.

Here's the one I built that stays right by the front door. It has 6 shelves but somehow DW got 4 and I got 2, go figure .

I recently added hinges to the footboard on my couch so we can put our shoes there.

I sewed a shoe holder big enough to hold a pair of adult men shoes. Thee were 6 of us traveling to DC, SOS solution was important. I mounted it with straps over the seat back and hooked to the loops for the seat belt area. Worked awesome!

We replaced the couch footboard with a short curtain that slides left or right or just lift up and put our shoes there.

Thanks for the ideas! First day of our trip finds a pile of shoes on the top shelf of the metal shoe holder. And me sticking flip flops in the fabric shoe organizer. Will talk with the crew before blood (or tears!) is shed.
