Shower faucet change

I was interested in changing out the 2 knobs in the shower to the type that is round with one handle that would control both the hot and cold. Curious if that is possible and if anyone has done this. I haven't taken anything apart yet to see what's behind the wall, but was thinking it should be possible. While at Lowes I saw some nice kits, but they all came with more than what I need. I just want to replace the faucets. Any thoughts appreciated.

I went to one of our local dealerships today and was told they don't think I could change the faucet. He wasn't too convincing. Definitely going to do more research. Hoping to hear from someone that may have done it successfully.

You mean to one like this.

I don't know your setup but I have changed mine..was not a huge job but did take a little bit of work as I had to take out the plastic bezelthing that the faucet is attached to.
Take those four screws out then you get behind it to remove the plastic nuts that hold on the faucet ( remove water lines first).
Unless yours is different..that I don't know.
Ones I have seen usually are mounted to a bezel like this which has to be removed is all.

That looks like it would work. I have a 3010. I was thinking of the round plates that homes have, but that should do the trick. Wife hates the 2 separate knobs. Thanks.

Was looking at pics of the shower in the sunseeker....looks like you have a round access hole below the faucets in order to get to the back side of the fittings...?

That's the one. I'm thinking it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I just picked up a peerless for the bathroom sink from lowes. The faucet it comes with is so close to the edge of the sink it's hard to wash your hands. I'll post pics when I get both installed.
