Slide out faults
3170 bedroom slide stops on occasion. The controller flashes a code 9 "hall power short to ground"
Any suggestions where to look for maybe a wire issue ?

The wiring and control box is under the bed. Look there. Do you have the Schwintek in wall slide troubleshooting handbook? I have it if you need it. Regards, Randy

I have the handbook. Is there a different box than the one outside in the storage bay ?

I have a 3120, mine is located under the bed, under the wood panels. All the wiring and control box is located there. Yours must be different than mine. Good luck

My 3170 bedroom slide had that problem, it would only go out 2 inches. turned out I broke a shear pin (that's what the RV dealer called it.....). Got it covered under warranty.
I know both my slides have different type of motors. The bedroom has the high pitched whine motor. The front has a lower pitched, more grinding motor.
What "controller" are you talking about? I don't have anything like that.

The one for the bedroom slide is in the cargo storage where the water pump and filter access is. Open the storage door and look up, you will see the control box as shown in the Lippert video.
The kitchen slide control box - I don't think that one really exist. Just the motor and drive mechanism. It also has the manual over ride in the cargo storage right under the center of the kitchen slide.

Nope, because of the two motor track system. But you can manually push it out or in although difficult for one person because of the size of the slide. I've done it, just have to nudge each end a little at a time.

was this with the motors engaged to the shaft? You were still able to move it in? What was your problem?

Holy cow! when I had a 3120, the bedroom slide was rather small, that would be easy to push in. My 3170 has a HUGE LONG slide for the bedroom, as it also includes the computer desk.
My kitchen and bedroom slides are about the same size....

Yes, I've done it without disconnecting anything. Now I can't push on my bedroom end with the slide all the way in. I had a problem with the ends not extending or retracting equally. I could get it out a little with the motor and then I would push to equal the ends and use the motor to extend more. That before I found out that I just needed to reset the slide control box (power cycle).
It's not that hard to push since it is on somewhat of a track.
