Snowbird storage
Down here from AK in the "Lower 48" in our 2014 SS 2450. Have enjoyed the 5,000 mile (plus) trek visiting family, parks, etc. Planning on storing the rig in covered (outdoor) storage in Atlanta for 4 months, and then resuming our adventure in February. Storage has power. Have sucessfully winterized in the past (for ccccold storage in AK), but wondering if I plug in the rig (just to shore power - will disconnect coach batteries) and leave on the Arctic Package, will the water system be OK? Or should I go full monty and winterize?

Why take the chance wintering is not difficult or expensive and you know it will be OK

Just a thought. If you disconnect the batteries they won't stay charged while connected to shore power.

I agree with others. Winterize. Also, the arctic pack only warms the holding tanks and I would think it would draw quite a bit of electricity keeping them on all the time.

I am in Atlanta and while it doesn't get too cold here, it will get below freezing long enough to do damage. If the tank heating pads fail you will have problems. Plus that doesn't keep the rest of the plumbing from freezing up. I would winterize and not take the chance. It is only a 30 minute job though it takes a day to de-winterize and sanitize. But well worth the peace of mind.

Small note about tank warmers you need to have something in the tanks prior to turning them on.

Yes winterize , there is no downside.
Keep the batts ON the charger , the rest should all be off.
Crawl under and look for small holes , wiring plumbing etc where mice could enter.
Spray foam seals holes well,

If leaving batteries on be sure to check at least once a month on water levels

We winterize each year. Purge water, pull hw element (add screen material), all valves and drains open, leave shore power on, batts on, artic off, peppermint oil in salt shakers, and a small oil bath heater inside.
