That would be the product that contains ethanol and is typically the least expensive antifreeze option. NAPA carries this stuff.

It takes a while to get the smell out of the water in the fresh water tank if you go that route. Nothing wrong with it. Just my preference.
Very (BAD) advice! I have NEVER seen anyone on the (Food Network) advise using (RV Antifreeze) in their Recipe or order a Drink at a Bar of (Wiskey and RV Antifreeze)? Youroo!!

It also used to be more pink than red like it is now. It states it is for potable systems but also states to contact poison control immediately if ingested. Not something I would put in my fresh water tank since it is so hard to get out. I never drink the water from my tank but I don't think I would even want to wash myself or dishes if I had put antifreeze in the tank.
Why would you put it in your fw tank anyway?

Not something I would do but some people pour a few gallons of RV antifreeze into the fresh water tank and use the on board pump to winterize the system.

Seriously? You're comparing trace amounts of non-toxic RV antifreeze in a fresh water tank used to wash dishes and take a shower to using RV antifreeze on the Food Network and to mix drinks in a bar?

That's how FR instructs you to winterize in the manual if you are using the RV antifreeze method.

In our Fleetwood pop up, it was a no no, so I've never done it that way.

I've done it that way and no problem. Important that you disinfect it when you use it again (javex and water).

The "non-toxic variety of RV antifreeze will typically contain ethanol. I don't want even trace amounts of ethanol in my dishwater or my shower. Just saying...

That is true and is probably why so many newbies are caught puzzling over that adapter they've discovered in their new RV. You know, the one that nobody showed them and hooks up to the inlet side of the water pump with a length of vinyl hose intended to be inserted into a jug of antifreeze.

Sorry, another winterizing ?

I hate to be the one to tell you but there is trace amounts of ethanol in Orange Juice, vanilla extract that you put in those camp cookies and tons of other foods we eat that's how it works as an antifreeze without killing us
Even if a trace amount were left behind that would be less alcohol in your dish water than putting a dirty Wine glass in the sink
Athletes pour Alcohol over each others head all the time
We are all going to be OK

Mine didn't come with one, so this can't be assumed. Just saying. ;-)

Again assumption that I am able and willing to be a plumber
This thing Leaked from the factory
I'm gonna start cutting water lines and clamp in fittings and elbows
You guys take for granted that we all know how to do this stuff. Some of us know just enough to screw the system up royally
My rant is why this bypass kit isn't installed
Oh ya I know
They want you to take it in for winterizing

I know,I can do it,I just don't want to LOL
Seriously though
I'm in the Charlotte area and on my previous unit I drained and bypassed the water filter and blew out the system then kept an electric heater on in the unit. no problems.
Is this sufficient in warmer States?
It does go below freezing here but never for long

That's so true...I just met a guy who's had an RV for 15-years and he, still, takes it in yearly to get it winterized...$95!!!

Holy moly...I told him I'd do it for a Mountain Dew...and I'll teach him how to do it next year! :-)
