Speakers for stereo

We have a 2007 Sunseeker 3100 with a satellite radio in the dash. The radio seems to run through the speakers in the coach. Can I play the radio while the coach is parked in a site with electricity hookup without drawing down the chassis battery? If so how is it done? Is it possible to also run the TV through the same speakers?

We have a 2010 and I don't think the way we are wired that we can do what you want without drawing the start battery.

1. The dash radio up until the 2012 models was run off the chassis battery, but if you're plugged in, it shouldn't matter much. You could run a wire from the coach batteries to the dash radio to use coach power instead.
2. To run sound from the TV through the speakers, you would have to have "audio out" on your TV, which I don't think the 2007's did.

Thank you for that insight. I just decided to plug the satellite radio receiver into one of the 12v plugins in the coach to get the power. What i would still like to do is run that receiver through the speakers in the coach, but i cant figure out where the wires are to connect to it? Any suggestions?

The speakers in the ceiling will tie into the ford harness that goes into the radio.

The speakers are wired into the dash radio. The Ford harness is the wiring coming from the van body (wired into the radio). That is, unless you have an entertainment center with surround sound...then they get wired to the wall mount radio/dvd.

We have a 2012 on order. So do I take it that on the 2012 the radio runs off the coach battery?

It really depends on when it was ordered and when it is being built. This has been a running change as we are testing out a new radio.

It is scheduled to be built in about two weeks according to RvDirect.com.

It should be, unless they ordered it in a specific way.

Radio power

I believe the dash radio in my 2012 3120 built in November operates on the chassis battery since it requires the ignition key to be on for the radio to function.

Probable. It has been a running change as we tested out new radios. So there may be some 2012's that are still run off the chassis, but most everything running now is wired off the coach batteries.

Sirius question

Thanks. Another question. Does the radio come with the Sirius mode? The Radio has the Sirius emblem and it appears to have a satellite antenna integrated into the roof TV antenna but Sirius doesn't come up with the Mode button. The radio is a Jensen JRV210.

No, It is "Sirius Ready" which simply means that the head unit can control a Sirius receiver. I wish the radio mfg's would come up with a better term. You still need to have a tuner and antenna for the Sirius section to work. The software is built in so that you can control that tuner from the native display on the JRV210.

electrical and plumbing schematics

Does anyone know where one can get plumbing and electrical schematics? Two things I'm trying to determine on the 3120 is if plugging in the coach also keeps the chassis battery charged and is the water filter in the flow path when hooked up to city water? From following things inside and under the unit I believe both answers are no.

From what I understand, there is a charge line running to the chassis battery so that it will charge when plugged in. In addition there is an "emergency start switch" so that if you were to deplete the chassis battery, you can push the button while turning the key, using the house batteries to start the engine.

The water filter is a "whole house" filter. (all water). I know that some people have taken the filter out of the system if they are on city water and the pressure is not high enough.

Thank you. I subsequently obtained the electrical schematics my 3120 and the charging line you mentioned is shown. I also have the drain piping schematics and my dealer is working on getting the water supply schematics. Then hopefully I won't be bothering you with anymore questions.

ATVer...if you have a Jensen dash stereo, yours is powered from the chassis batteries.
