I use a screw driver when it needs to be opened. Don't want critters inside if left open.

I found that my fan was running the wrong direction as the was very little air being exhausted. Reversed the polarity to the motor and it works fine now. To the user that could not get the vent open, the thermal fuse in line with one of the motor leads probably opened due to no air flow.

To open the vent, push up and out on both tabs at the same time. Do not worry about breaking the tabs. I have no problem with the vent.
