Cool stove top cover and mysterious polls in Sunseeker

After getting home with our new Sunseeker 2450 we discovered that the glass cover for the stove would not fold out of the way in order to use the stove. The problem was that they installed the hinges backwards. I changed the hinges after staightening them out from all the wrong bending and they work fine. Not very good quality control. I also found two 2.5ft polls with rubber tips on each end. Does anyone know what they are used for?

The poles are probably for a slide out while traveling.

Thumbs down Mystery Polls

I thought of that as a possibility but can't figure out where to put them and slide should be in while traveling. They are still a mystery to me.

I have the sister model, 2451s. We pondered the poles for awhile too! The are to lock the slide in place by wedging up top inside. Don't think they are needed unless you were to have a slide problem.

Great floor plan ain't it.

Floor plan

The floor plan is the reason we bought this model. Thanks for your advise. I will see if I can figure out where they wedge. I guess it is to keep the slide from going out while driving?

In case you have to manually control your slide you can put them in between the slide and wall so your slide doesn't slide out while driving.

Joshua, wouldn't it be a good idea to put some of these things like this in the Forest River owner's manual, so it's not such a mystery to a new buyer? I have seen so many questions on this forum about things that I would have thought would be a normal thing to explain in an owner's manual.
Just wondering ??

Each new unit should be getting instructions as well as a picture to show how to use the slide locks. I'll check and make sure they are getting sent out.

I was wondering about the poles myself...thanks for the heads-up, everybody, and to fishrball for asking good questions. I thought the weird stove top on my new Sunseeker was just different from my old RV, because it folds exactly like the cover to DH's iPad...perhaps more intuitive for the computer generation?

Guy who did my PDI told us to put them away and forget about them unless we had a slide problem. Seems people put them up on the slide and forget about them ,then wonder why slide is not going out as they continue to push button. Have seen some suggestions if you do use them put a ribbon or strap to remind you there up there
