The reason you and I don't have them is because our stoves are not on an outside wall. This is the only thing I don't like about my Windjamer.

Open stove vent

Try a small screw driver, just slip the screwdriver flat blade under one corner of the latch and lightly twist the screw driver. The latch will snap open. After opening several times you can the open with your thumb by pushing up on the latch.

Good luck

After my 'flap' left, I made one out of clear Lexan and took a file to the area where the latch s make contact to taper it a bit...works good now, and with the flap on the table, it doesn't get forgott'n

I would rather have this one than the other types. If you forget to close this one it is still there when you get home. The other type blows away. Now put the new style vent fan in and really move some air out the vent!

I had a devil of a time working to get it open and closed on our hybrid. It finally worked but at least it was at a level where I could reached it. Now we just traded that one in for a class A and that darn thing is up 9 feet. How in the world did they think one could open and close it without bringing out the ladder every time?

Merry Christmas to all,
