But, I'm hoping I can resurrect mine from the dead. Will post pictures if it works. If it doesn't, wellll, I'll just fade away.

Ya true but you would think they could have vented maybe through the roof. When I was in Goshen and took a plant tour I mentioned it to them plus a couple of other things. See if they make the change. Later RJD

Unless you open the roof vent which is close by stove and turn fan on. I had a power fan put in there for that reason. Later RJD

Many of us have removed the flapper entirely and caulked in a piece of window screen when upgrading to the SAM-1 Range Hood Fan. No more broken tabs on the outside, quieter fan operation on the inside and you can open/close the vent from inside the camper. Do a Google search for SAM-1 Range Hood.

I think I'll try to put in a screen like others suggested and not worry any more. Rain water came in the back side window while sitting along side our house, not that is something to be concerned about. It's a 2015 with only 5,000 miles so hope the warranty covers that. We are the second owners.

The previous owner left insurance cards in the unit so I may contact her to see if she tried to have it fixed.

Like SilhouettePenny, I installed the SAM-1 fan with an internal operated vent door. When we first got the trailer in Feb 2012, I unlatched the vent flapper and left it open until early this year when I installed the SAM-1, then trashed it completely. The SAM-1 is a quiet, squirrel cage 3 speed motor that moves more air and has an led 2 different brightness light.

Exhaust lined up perfectly with the original hole, the SAM-1 exhaust chute is much smaller than the original.
