Suburban water heater/inside switch

In a previous thread someone posted a picture of a switch for the hot water heater that they mounted in the kitchen so you don't have to go outside to turn the electric on. I believe it was mounted near the kitchen sink. I wanted to know exactly what needs to be done to install this. I'm assuming a wire would run from the hot water heater to a switch. Where would you run the wire from on the hot water heater and what size wire would you use? Is there more to it than that?Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

I just bought a switch and box to do this today. On my 3008W the water heater is under the kitchen cabinet right inside the front door. I will be adding the switch to control the outlet as shown is one of the above referenced threads. Here is the switch I am using. Hubbell Switch It is rated for 20 amps and the toggle is lit red when "on".
