Swap a queen for a king 3170ds

I have a 2015 sun seeker 3170ds.....Has anyone changed the queen bed over to a king size? If so how did you do it ? We are thinking about making this change to our rv....I was thinking I might have to remove one side or both bedside cabinets or over head storage ? Thoughts.... And thanks!!

I haven't done it, but I have thought about it.

I believe, an rv king mattress is the same length, and 12" wider (72×80 vs 60x80) so you should be able to fit one by removing the rear nightstand and building a platform to support it between the current platform and back wall.

That should be pretty basic.

I have no idea what shape the walls would be behind the wardrobe cabinet and nightstand once removed or if you can order a small cabinet from FR to fill the void left if you pull the rear wardrobe cabinet.

I am interested to see pictures, if you start pulling it apart.

I have not done it but I imagine it would be a tradeoff. Obviously gain mattress space but loose one (or both side storage areas) AND there is no way it would be full walk-around. You'd have to climb in from the foot of the bed.
