Swap from steel to alloy wheels

I have been contemplating installing alloy wheels to replace the steel ones. It is mainly for cosmetic reasons but it will also reduce weight. I am aware that it could improve handling due to the reduction of unsprung weight but I just read an article in Trailer Life magazine saying it will also improve the ride. Anyone done it and did you notice any improvement?

Just go on Ebay under "16" dually wheels" and you will get a lot of choices. The ones I'm looking at are the Moto Metal MO963 in black or chrome.
