Tank Sizes Now Larger?

Did anyone notice that the Sunseeker brochure on FR's website now shows most models with 39 gallon gray & black tanks. A couple brochures ago it showed 30 gallons for most models. When did the larger tanks start? Is it 2013's & later?

Some 2012's will have gotten it as it was a running change. All 2013's will have the latest brochure specs.

That's better than the Salem brochure the tank sizes in the new brochure shows smaller tanks than prior years. Actually they are the same size FR incorrectly listed tank sizes on both the website and brochures on my 2009 Salem. Listed 60 gray,38 black and they are both only 30. Major downer finding this out after I purchased it. I mean my unit sleeps 10 and has a 30 gallon tanks? Plenty of room under there for larger tanks poor choice.

So if I see a 2012 that I like on a lot, is there a way to verify if it has the 30 or 39 gallon gray & black tanks? For example, is there a sticker in a cabinet door showing that information or would the dealer have a sheet with that information? I think Winnebago has a sticker like that but not sure about Forest River.

My 2012 built in November 2011 has the smaller tanks. You can see the tanks from the storage compartments and they say their size on them. Pictures I have seen of the 2013's show that the tanks protrude more into the compartments and seem to have a trim cover over them. Thus the compartments are more finished looking. I'm guessing if there is a trim cover it probably has the larger tanks.

Are you talking about the back storage compartment or on the sides?

I have a 3120 and the tanks are visible from both side compartments, sewer connections and water filter access. The compartment with the sewer connections is where the size is cast into the tanks.

bclemens,

Do you have a date when the 39gal tanks entered production? So when I'm shopping for a 2012, I can be sure the it has the 39's.

Also, would the production date for the upgrade affect both the Sunseeker & the Forester models at the same time? I am trying to decide between the 3170DS and the 3171DS and, in either case, I would like to make sure that it has the 39 gal tanks.

Thanks for your help!

B727 - According to paperwork, the larger tanks were to begin in production with unit 22331, built on 11/18/2011. The larger tanks were to be put on all sunseekers AND foresters except for models 2250/51 and 2650/51.
