Tire pressure

Hi all

We are getting ready to set off on our new to us 2011 3010ds. Can anyone give me an idea of what tire pressure we should be running?

There should be a placard on the driver's side indicating normal and sometimes they go further than required and display load & what speed, temperature etc.
This would only apply to the :"projected " tires mounted on the new vehicle.
The Chinese & Korean tire web pages are thin or require translation so go with what ya know, from DOT .
I'D ADD TO THAT A RELIABLE TPTMS TO AUGMENT YOUR PSI GAUGE AND INFARED DEVICE.
IT will warn you of an impending or a catastrophic failures.
I got a 6 tire wireless (tandem Axel's ) but my Tow has it's own so I can have backup/replacement sender caps. Less than half my deductable and 100% better Tha surprise's!

Be safe and steady? 😉

I have General tires on the RV.. I didn't know if I should go by the sticker on the door or the max pressure on the tires. I am totally new to all of this and we are heading for Pheonix and it's 100 plus there.. don't want to have tire issues in that heat

My take is, if you took the kitchen sink (and everything else with you), I'd be running the tires at the maximum COLD INFLATION PRESSURE listed on the sidewall of the tire. COLD MEANS JUST THAT COLD.

They will climb in pressure as they warm up from carcass flex and road heat,

Total agreement! A INFARED or equal device at ever go (cold) and stop (hot) knowing that it should go in your log book as does mine. The TPTS (TIRE PRESURE AND TEMPERATURE SENSORS : can give you a overview in real time. Maybe I saw too many films, video's and. You Tubes of shredded tires trailers & motor homes spinning Thu the air in to a ditch/ canyon/River?
Paranoid , certainly. Alive? For now! Thank God.

No need to mention the limits of : "ST " OR "LT" speed and load limits?
When EVERYTHING is passing us I play the old old song: " I can't drive 55!" My tires say 94mph but they will never see it while it's mine, I do like the safety cushion?

We have a 3010ds and when loaded heavy, we run 80 in the rears and 70 in the front. When running light we back it down to 70 in the rear and 65 in the front.

You need to be a little careful looking at the sidewalls or door stickers for a motor home. While they are good for the max cold, the tire charts based on weight are more important to follow.

Door stickers mean nothing if the unit he bought is second hand and the previous owner changed out the tires.

The door sticker should have both the tire size and the cold inflated pressures on it, the maximum inflated pressures printed on the tires is just that, the maximum pressure to put in the tires(cold). Go by the door sticker pressures!

SO what do you say when the original owner put larger/smaller wheels and tires on other than the OEM?

Door sticker means nuttin.

This is the case for EVERY vehicle, self powered or towed.

These things run at or near GVWR so I run max pressure in the tires.

I am not so sure about cold tire psi. My tires say max. 65psi cold. Now that sounds simple. So at 55 degree I put 65 psi in. Now when I hit the road and they warm up the psi raises to 78 psi. That just does not seam safe to me. Having a TMS system has really showed me some interesting changes with my tires. Now I inflate the tires to 60psi when they are around 75 degree this keeps them around 70 psi when running 90 degrees. Any thoughts on this?

You need to educate yourself about the meaning of the cold max PSI on your tires. Lots of articles out there that explain it very well. Simply put, the cold psi takes into account the increase in psi as temps rise. You should never under inflate or adjust hot tire pressures to compensate.

Darn close to max weight, I feel that 65 in bags gives me good leveling and ride.
