Hey Boso , if you are going to rotate tires keep in mind the direction they have been rolling, you are going to have to bring six tires into a four tire position, sounds weird I know, the first movement could be left rear outside to right front, and right rear outside to left front, next rotation you could do a left front to left rear inside, and right front to right rear inside. just keep track were you are in the rotation process. Good luck. Maybe someone else has a better idea!

If I was going to rotate them I would move the tires from the rear axle to the front on the same side then the front to the back.

Hey Ford , We are talking about six tires on a sunseeker, it has dual rears. You shouldn't move the outside rears to the front on the same side , you are changing the direction of rotation of the tire.

I doubt the tires are directional so it is of little consequence.

The two inside on the rear HAVE been turning in the same direction as the steering tires so if you go from front to back on the same side direction of rotation is the same.

Check your owner's manual and also your tire manufacturer's recommendations.

Our MBS 2041 has a very specific regimen for tire rotation in the owner's manual. It is switch front with rear inside, same side, and switch rear outside with rear outside on the opposite side (so those two change turning direction).

However, the text contains a little qualifier: "DUAL TIRES AT THE REAR: If your vehicle is equipped with tires of the same size, the tires on the front axle can be rotated with the inner tires on the rear axle in pairs so that the intended rotation (spinning) direction of the tires remains the same. If the tread pattern on the tires is not unidirectional, the outer tires on the rear axle can be rotated from one side to the other." [underlining added]

It does not say what to do if the tires are unidirectional, but presumably in that case you would rotate the three on the same side in a circular pattern, just be sure to go clockwise or counter-clockwise each time or you will (too quickly) end up back where you started.

I've owned 3 Class A diesel pushers, a Class B Sprinter based, and 8 different trailers of various sizes and shapes. I have never rotated the tires on any of them! Why, simple answer-- it's because time will get them before mileage accumulates to the degree that it wears them out. I'm a firm believer that rv tires need to be replaced every 5-6 years of the manufacturing date unless, of course, the tires get worn out due to mileage. Very few of us put the number of miles on our rv 's in 5-6 years to wear out the tires so rotating them to get "extra mileage" out of them is a waste of time and money to me.

The bottom line is, the front tires are going to get the most wear with the twin I beam suspension that Ford E-450 uses, so if you want to rotate just go inside rear dual to the front and front to the inside rear on the same side.

Dual tires should have the same tread depth (or as close as possible). If not the tire with the most tread left can get overloaded as it is "higher".

Most with dual rear wheels don't bother to rotate, unless they get too much curb rash. Then they just rotate inner with outer on same side (assuming tread is bi-directional).

I always just left the rears alone on my 2004 Winnebago and just changed sides on the fronts for more even wear. I originally added the spare in and rotated them in a circle. If you check the Michelin site, they just swap sides on both front and rear. As mentioned, they don't wear out they die from old age and ozone cracks. Here's the site, look at the duals alternate rotation-

Also, there are no directional arrows on my tires Michelin 225/75/16 LRE M+S2.

Like funfinder said...if you do decide to rotate, CHECK YOUR TREAD DEPTH! I was going to rotate mine (just over 21,000 miles now)...was surprised to find that while the outside of the fronts were visibly worn, the center of the front tires had significantly more tread than the rears. In that case, if I rotated them, the tire that came from the front would likely be overloaded on the inside rear position, since it's overall circumference would be greater than the tire beside it. Decided to leave them alone and have another beer!

Had some alignment related edge wear on the front tires. Alignment shop - after aligning - recomended putting both right rears on front (outer to left front, inner to right front) and both fronts on right rear. Tread depth ~ matched (both fronts showed similar wear), nice square and matched tires on front, no change of direction of rotation on any of the tires. Now, about 15000 miles later, all tires look good (since alignment fronts staying nice and uniform; worn fronts have "squared up" on right rear position). If I rotate again, I will put the left rears on the front, fronts on left rear, and leave the right rears alone.
