Unidentified connection, vent, what is it?

On the drivers side, under the table, in the storage area in my new 2500TS there is a vent or connector. It comes through the top of the storage compartment. It is a steel tube, with a horizontal hole in it, a steel cover over it, with a cotter pin through the tube, holding the cover on. There are no screw threads. I have no idea what it is or is used for? Dealer did not know. Anyone know what it is? Only thing above it in the RV is the table and seats around the table.
Thank you.. Emory in MD.

Outside storage or inside? If outside under slide its the shaft for the slide motor.

It is outside storage. That sounds right. What is the purpose of having it there?
Can it be used to move the slide manually? If so how?
Thank you for the help...

If it has the cotter pin in it, its the slide height adjustment (for dealer use). There should be another shaft with a nut on the end...that would be the manual crank for the slide. Just put a ratchet on it. But again, pictures to be sure.

You can search for "Lippert manual slide" to find the video/thread talking about this.
