Those Kirkland 12v Deep discharge are likely marine batteries. They are pretty low capacity. Find some true deep discharge 12vs like Deka or Trojan.

Nicely stuffed in existing step well. Three 12’s seems to be a better choice when the boss says no. Happens to me all the time.

Yes... 2013 2650S. I found 3 group 24 metal battery bases at local RV shop. I cleaned up the step box and fresh paint. Some planning was needed to allow space for wires entering the box. Screwed the bases into place. I found the web straps worked best when placed under the base before screwing the base into place. Got 3 of the “deep cycle” batteries from Costco. I think that these batteries are the same as Interstate SRM-24.

The middle battery is a bit of a pain when checking fluid levels in the battery.

I will also comment on the 2 small ZAmp charge controllers at the top of the photo. I have a 50 watt solar panel on the roof and it feeds 2 of these charge controllers. One for the house batteries and one for the coach battery. Not enough for real camping but it does maintain the batteries while sitting in my yard.

I also just replaced the original batteries with group 31 Duracell AGM. After stuffing the batteries in the stairwell, I thought about pulling them out and modifying the strap. However, I think the pool noodle will do the trick :-) Thanks
