Upper Bunk

I being charged $100 for the installation of locks to hold up the upper bunk. The Dealer (McClain RV, Rockwall, TX) tells me the pistons are only to assist in lifting the bunk, not to hold it up. If that is the case why did the salesman tell me it would stay up and they would replace the faulty pistons. Now they tell me it is not designed to stay up, yet even the Brochure shows the upper bunk retracted. I purchased this Sunseeker 3170DS Brand new and took delivery on Jan 13th. I think that the Manufacturer (and) or the Dealer should stand behind their product if in fact this is a problem and the struts will not hold the bunk in the retract position.

I wonder if anyone else who has the 3170DS with the bunks has had this problem?
Thanks,
Chuck (the newbie)

PM me your VIN. The last (6) should be sufficient.

I removed the childs sofa and mattress from the bunk area. This is where I now crate my dogs. Regarding the upper bunk have you talked to the factory?

I installed 2 60lb gas struts for the upper bunk in my Wildcat. It holds the bunk in the up position withou issue, even in travel.
