It's not really in an area of stress (like corners where the cap is attached). First glance it does look like some sort of impact...but I'm no expert on fiberglass.

Nor am I. It is a hard pill for me to swallow that the denial was based solely on a photograph, without a rep of some sort seeing it in person. Seems like an easy out for FR to have me claim this on my insurance.

Well, they would also go off of info from the dealer as well.

With about 8,000 units in the field with that cap and this is the first one we have seen like that, I'm not so sure its an easy out as much as it is an reasonable deduction. I'll ask our fiberglass guy if they have seen anything like this...but again, it has the tell tale signs of impact.

I'll be looking into the TPMS for sure. Will post some pics when I get the unit so you can see the levelers. My unit just came off-line and should be in paint now. We are thinking I should have it in a few weeks.

A couple of questions about your TM66 on the 3170DS:
1. Did you have solid one-piece stems aded?
2. Did you have issues with the sensors "fitting" in the slots of wheel inserts?

I can barely get a air chuck on my stems through the slots in the wheel inserts. I really want to get a TPMS but am worried about the sensors fitting.

Well the whole thing started on my trip
I notice my rear right tire was low on air, and had the tire remove and re install they did find the leak, finally it was the stem valves extension made with plastic, son I replace them all, and install the tpms66

And it save time on my checklist prior to departure and safer

Also the sensor fits well in the well, with the proper valve extension they fit on properly and easy access even the inner tire

An other thing I have on the new one, I replace all the bulbs to led, and get this they came from Home Depot they have them only in the usa, made by Philips and draw less amp and stay cold, the one with filament would probably over time melt the support and lense
I will try to put pictures of themClick image for larger version

Those look like they really help with driving.

Where did you purchase these? Were they difficult to install? A link for online? Thanks for sharing.
