Water filter black o rings

The new water filter has black o rings on either end. Do I leave them on or take them off when installing a new water filter?

Yes, the new one has them. I can't remember if I left them on or took them off in the past. I seem to recall them not allowing the water filter canister to completely tighten.

You may have to put a light coat of Vaseline on them to get it to slide all the way in.

We use keg lube on the o-rings, cause...... well, that's what we had handy. As to the black O on each end of the filter, one is required each end and sometimes it sticks to the filter and sometimes it sticks to the bowl. Don't let them stack up on either end.

OP here - I left the black o rings on either end of the filter, made sure the tighten the canister a little extra, and nothing leaked out.

We have fund that a bit of spray silicone on the rings helps to make them a bit easier to tighten and take off. We also use this on the cover for the black water tank drain and a shot on the toilet rubber ring does no harm.

You could also use Super Lube !!!
Rubber washers must be in place,,, on the CC-1 !!!
+ the 0 ring on the top !!!
