Yes, yours will have the anode rod attached to the drain plug. It needs to be replaced when it has significantly deteriorated from its original size. Likely it will last a couple of camping seasons. Inspect it when you drain the water heater for other reasons, like winterizing, etc. I changed mine this spring after two full seasons and it may have lasted this year also, but it was easier to replace when doing de-winterizing. We camp several weekends a month, plus longer trips and I don't drain the water heater between trips, so spring was the best time for me to fix it and forget it for the year.
