Water in storage

Opened storage under refrigerator and it was flooded with about an inch of water. Only thing I can guess that happened was that when the refrigerator defrosted after our last trip the water ran down the outer wall and then leaked into the storage area. I poured water into the defrost drip and watched it run out the drainage tube and then down the outer wall. Then I opened the storage door and could see water in the inside of the door.

Thinking I need to replace the door seal with a new one. Anyone with an experience like this, please let me know how you were able to solve this problem.

Thanks...

I pulled the defrost tube thru the grill and outside. No more water in storage compartment.

Thanks for your reply. I have the drain tube for the defrost through the grill and the water drains properly through the tube, but it then runs down the side of the coach and collects on the top of the storage door and drains on the inside of the door. I think if I get some weather striping and seal the door better that should stop the leaking.

Again, thanks for your help.

Since I'm not familiar with your particular trailer, my suggest may not be applicable. On my first Wildcat MAXX, I also had water inside my storage compartment even though I was sitting still. As it turned out, my unit had the storage door which is hinged at the top with the latch centered at the bottom of the door. Where the portion of the door latch that attaches to the trailer ( not the door) there was a total lack of sealant. When it rained, the rain ran down the side of the trailer, around the outside of the door sealing rubber and right into the latch assembly then on thru to the inter storage compartment. After silicone sealing this portion of the latch, all is well!!!

I also had something similar. My door had both a lock and a thumbscrew. The flat piece that acts as a latch was not pulling the door into a tight seal on the thumbscrew. That tiny gap let water in. I bent the flat piece of metal in my vise to make it seal tight. No more water came in.

I use silicone on my seals twice a year or if the doors start sticking to the seal.
