Water pump

2013 Sunseeker 3100. On the water tank and pump. Notice that the water pump runs periodically for a second or two when no taps are on. For example, while sleeping, the water pump makes the pumping sound for a second or two. Don't remember this happening before. Do others notice this too? Trying to figure out if its normal. Thanks!

I would start with checking all the water connections for tightness, your losing pressure somewhere. I've had the check valve in the water pump go bad before causing the pump to do this, but that was on a 4-5 yr old pump. Also, check the water heater pressure relief valve, open and close it a couple of times to be sure it's seated.

Your loosing water pressure somewhere - loose fitting that's leaking, HW tank, check valve, low point drain, etc .

If you don't find any (Drip leaks) check to see if your F/W tank is filling also. Youroo!!

This happened to me two times on my new rig.once it was the hot water heater pressure valve that was dripping very slowly and once it was the quick change valve on the pressure washer dripping

OP here: Yes. When I went to drain the fresh water tank, I noticed a little bit of water in the storage compartment. It was both on the floor and in the seams of the storage compartment roof. So some plumbing above there must have a loose connection. Drips out. Then pump refills the line.
