Water pump

Rookie here again with a question about the water pump. Taken 2 trips so far, both dry camping. Friend of mine with an rv told me not to leave the water pump switch on unless I actually needed to use it, said it was not good. Is this true or can I leave he pump on? I worry some of my guests forget to turn it on/ off and don't want to do any damage.
Thanks everyone who has been helping me out. I have had great trips so far!!

I think either way is fine. If you have the pump on and it cycles often without water demand, then I would turn it off when not in use. Cycling would indicate a leak somewhere or a check valve not working properly.

As long as is does not run without demand, I would not worry about it.

Water pump works on demand only. Leaving the switch on is fine. However, if you are connected to city water, switch will be off.

Leave It On

If NOT connected to city water supply, leave the switch on. It only works when you turn on a faucet or flush the toilet. Just keep track of your fresh water level. You don't want to run the pump with no water in the system.
