Water pump won't stop/start running
My water pump would not stop running last nite had to turn off at switch. This morning the pump will not come on but there is a lite in the switch that does come on apparently showing tare is power. As a newbie, what do I do next?

Go to the pump and check for power there.
If power, you might have a pump problem.
If no power, work backwards. You might have a blown fuse.

Water pump won't stop/start running
We are using city water for 2 days, the previous 3 days was on tank water. When we attached the city water I did not turn off the water pump. Last nite the pump started running by itself, we were not using any water, and the pump would not stop running so I turned the switch off. This morning I turned on the pump after disconnecting the city water and insuring there was water in the tank and the pump did not come on.. the lite in the switch is lit up apparently showing there is power. What do I do now? I do not know where the pump is located on this 2017 2800qs as we are newbies. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pump may be at pressure. Did you try turning on the faucet and see if it comes on ?

If you don't have ice in the lines somewhere and the pump is getting 12 Volt then small adjustments on the pump may get it working again, post the make and model of the pump if you can.

Just a guess here but I would think your 43 gallon tank might be located under the master bed and the pump may be located in the right rear storage area behind the black plastic trim panel. or it may be near the area where your hot/cold water drains are that usually are under the body pointing directly to the ground.

sorry, I have a newbie question to inject into this conversation. During our walk through we were specifically told not to turn the pump on when hooked up to city water. Will that ruin the pump?

If your lines are already pressurized, you have to turn on a faucet, or flush the toilet, to be able to hear the pump come on.

We frequently connect to city water while the pump is still on while hooking up. Never had a problem. Never did it in reverse, i.e. turn the pump while hooked up to city water.

After talking to good sam tech support, I checked the line filter going to pump but it was clean. By trouble shooting I found that when both the water tank drain and the winterizing hose valves were opened individually or together there was no water coming from the tank. So the pump was not a factor. I used 30 lbs of air pressure to clear the hose and then the water started to drain and the pump is now working normally. As the temp was 65 for the last 2 days, I do not know lf ice was the issue but somthing clearly was plugging the tank or hose on the tank side of the pump.

Just a thought....Check that your on-board tanks have water in them.. On my MH and a previous one if the tanks ran dry while the pump was turned on it would run and run trying to pressurize the system.

It won't help the pump. By having your pump and city water both on you have 2 sources of water pressure. If city water bypasses the pumps check valve it will begin to fill your fresh water tank.
Always best to use one or the other. Not both together.
